On a busy line, one dead burner backs up every station. Best Pro repairs commercial range tops, countertop hot plates, stock pot and wok ranges, and countertop induction units for restaurants, cafés and catering kitchens across the Colorado Springs area.
Gas burners
- Pilot won’t stay lit. A clogged pilot orifice, a draft from a hood or a door, or — on burners with flame safety — a worn thermocouple.
- Burner won’t light from the pilot. Grease in the flash tube or burner ports, or a pilot flame that has shrunk too small to reach.
- Lazy, yellow or uneven flames. Burner ports clogged by boil-overs and grease, a misadjusted air shutter, or low gas pressure from a failing regulator. Yellow flames waste gas and leave soot on the pans.
- Stiff, loose or leaking valves. The valve behind each knob takes a beating. A valve that leaks or won’t hold a low flame needs to be rebuilt or replaced.
Gas connections
Commercial cooking equipment on casters connects through a flexible gas hose with a quick-disconnect fitting and a restraining cable. When the unit is pulled out for cleaning, the hose and fitting wear. If you smell gas near the line, shut the gas off at the appliance valve and call us. We check every connection for leaks after a repair.
Induction and electric units
Countertop induction units fail most often because grease and flour clog their cooling fans, which leads to overheating errors and shutdowns. Other failures are the power board and the coil. Electric hot plates usually need a new element or control switch.
How we work
