A warm refrigerator can’t wait until next week. Best Pro repairs home refrigerators all over Colorado Springs — Briargate, Northgate and Stetson Hills on the north side, the Broadmoor area, Old Colorado City — as well as in Monument and around Fort Carson. Our office is in Briargate, so on most days a technician can come the day you call, find the cause at your home and, in most cases, finish the repair on the same visit.
Refrigerators we repair
French door, side-by-side, top- and bottom-freezer, counter-depth and built-in refrigerators, together with their ice makers and water dispensers. Brands include Samsung, LG, Whirlpool, GE, Frigidaire, KitchenAid, Maytag, Kenmore, Bosch, Electrolux, Amana and Miele. Built-in Sub-Zero units have their own page.
What we see a lot in Colorado Springs
- A garage refrigerator that quits in winter. Most refrigerators have a single thermostat in the fresh-food section. When the garage gets close to freezing, that section stays cold by itself, the compressor hardly runs and the freezer slowly thaws. Nothing is broken — the refrigerator just isn’t built for a cold garage. A garage-rated model or a warmer spot solves it, and we can tell you which you have.
- A dead control board after a thunderstorm. Summer afternoons here often bring lightning, and a power surge can knock out a main or inverter control board. We test the board before replacing it. A surge protector costs far less than a board.
- Packed condenser coils. Dry, dusty air and pet hair clog the coils under or behind the refrigerator, so the compressor runs hotter and longer. Cleaning them once or twice a year is the easiest maintenance there is.
- Trouble after a move. PCS moves to and from Fort Carson, Peterson Space Force Base and the Air Force Academy mean a lot of refrigerators travel. After a move we look for a kinked or leaking water line, an ice maker that never got reconnected, or a unit that was plugged in right after riding on its side. If yours was moved lying down, let it stand upright for a few hours before you plug it in.
How a repair works
- Call us or book online. Booking online comes with a discount. We give you an arrival window, usually for the same day.
- Diagnostic at your home. The technician checks the sealed system, fans, defrost system, controls and door seals, explains what failed and gives you the price before any work starts. See our service call and repair prices.
- Repair and warranty. We replace the failed part and make sure the refrigerator is back to temperature. Parts and labor carry a 6-month warranty.
Renting? The technician can write up the diagnosis and the repair so you can pass it on to your landlord or property manager.
When it isn’t worth fixing
If the repair would cost more than the refrigerator is worth, the technician will say so before you pay for any parts.
