Commercial Dryer Repair in Colorado Springs

Same-day service in Colorado Springs and the surrounding area. Upfront pricing and a 3–6 month warranty on parts and labor.

A laundromat loses money on every dryer with an out-of-order sign, and a hotel that falls behind on linens during Air Force Academy graduation week or the summer season feels it at the front desk. We repair commercial tumble dryers — gas or electric, one pocket or stacked — for laundromats, hotels and motels, gyms, salons, senior living communities and other businesses that do their own laundry, across Colorado Springs and in Monument.

Slow drying is usually an air problem

A commercial dryer moves a lot of air, and most long dry times come from air that can’t get in or out:

  • Lint past the screen. Lint collects behind the drum, around the burner and in the exhaust duct, not only on the lint screen. A restricted exhaust makes the dryer run longer and hotter.
  • Makeup air. Every dryer in the room pulls air out of it. In January someone closes the makeup air louver because the laundry room is freezing, and every machine slows down — or the airflow switch keeps shutting the burners off.
  • The exhaust outlet. Lint and moisture freeze on the damper flaps on cold nights, and drifting snow can block a low outlet.
  • Drum seals. Worn felt seals let cool room air in around the drum.

No heat

A gas dryer that stays cold gets its ignition tested first: the igniter, the flame probe and the coils on the gas valve. Then come the safeties. The sail switch proves that air is moving and the high-limit guards against overheating, and either one will keep the burner off — which is why a lot of no-heat calls end up being about airflow. On electric models, the usual suspects are a burned-out element, a high-limit or a failed contactor.

Gas dryers are rated at sea level, and their manuals call for a lower input at high elevation. A dryer brought here from a lower elevation with its sea-level orifices burns rich, soots up and runs hot.

Mechanical wear

A squeal, a rhythmic thump or a motor that hums while the drum sits still comes from the drive: the belt, the idler pulley, the drum rollers or bearings, or the motor itself. In a stack dryer the upper and lower pockets don’t share drives or burners, so one can be out of service while the other keeps working.

Lint and fire risk

Lint is the fuel in most dryer fires. Clean the lint screens after every load, and have the lint cleaned out from behind the drum and around the burner on a schedule; we look for buildup on every service call.

The price is agreed before the repair starts, and parts and labor carry a 3–6 month warranty. Washers in the same laundry room are covered under commercial washer repair, and a dryer at home under dryer repair.
